Modern trends in apprenticeships in vocational education in England and features of management training
This article examines current issues in the development of apprenticeship as a form of vocational education for management personnel in contemporary England. The study reveals that the apprenticeship system, built on combining theoretical training within educational programmes of various levels with the acquisition of practical skills and management experience, is influenced by a range of factors that reduce its effectiveness. It is shown that addressing the complex of organisational and economic challenges facing apprenticeship in modern England should be based on reforming the system of tax incentives for English companies, implementing new educational programmes for future managers, and taking into account structural changes in the local labour market and the specific features of the state’s economic policy in the context of the UK’s economic recession.
